SMALL GROUPS

SHARE EXPERIENCES. NO JUDGEMENT

Each Wednesday night following worship, our small groups meet.   Attending is optional, but highly encouraged.

Many people who attend small groups say it is a relief to be able to share their struggles in a safe, caring atmosphere.

These "share" groups meet from 7:40 to 8:45 in different rooms throughout the building.

Specific room numbers are announced during the service.

The current groups meeting in-person at 7:40 pm each Wednesday are:

Life Hurts, God Heals (Women) - 129

Chemical Dependency - 127

Family Support - 123

Welcome Home (Veterans) - 153

WHY COME TO SMALL GROUPS?

  • You get an opportunity to share your experiences, successes and failures with the group.
  • You gain strength and hope from listening to the sharing of others, and know we are not alone in our struggles.
  • Share groups provide a safe place to share your burdens without being judged.  Everything shared in groups is confidential.

Guidelines for Small Groups

To ensure that Celebrate Recovery is a safe place, the following five guidelines are followed in all small groups. If you have any questions, these guidelines are explained in the Newcomers group:

  1. Keep your sharing focused on your own thoughts and feelings. Limit your sharing to three to five minutes.
  2. There is NO cross talk. Cross talk is when two individuals engage in conversation excluding all others. Each person is free to express his or her feelings without interruptions.
  3. We are here to support each other,  not “fix” each other.
  4. Anonymity and confidentiality are basic requirements. What is shared in the group stays in the group. The only exception is when someone threatens to injure themselves or others.
  5. Offensive language has no place in a Christ-centered recovery group.
