Derenda Russell believed her role in life was to "fix" other people. However, God eventually convinced her to seek out help for herself. Recovery became an important part of her life while she was married to a man who had traveled down a path of drug abuse. Eventually, Derenda would become a leader in Celebrate Recovery North where she met her current husband, J.R. Together they lead Celebrate Recovery at Fairview Knox Church in Corryton.
